Production[]
Twilight of the Gods was first announced on July 11, 2019, as an anime series for Netflix created by Zack Snyder and Jay Oliva. Stone Quarry Animation, a new venture from Zack, Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller, and Oliva, would produce the series, while Oliva would act as showrunner. Snyder and Oliva would write and executive produce the series and Oliva would also direct.[1]
"We pitched them an outline. They had a few notes but they let us have free reign. They had no guardrails, no limitations."
On June 10, 2021, the main cast and their roles were finally revealed by Zack Snyder and Rahul Kohli on Netflix Geeked Week.[2] Alongside the announcement that Xilam Animation would be animating on May 3, 2023, it was revealed that the series would be presented in a 2D style despite the previously-announced studios focusing on 3D animation.[3]
