Matthias Schweighöfer (born March 11, 1981) is a German actor and director. While he'd already made a name for himself in Germany, his big breathrough into international audiences was with his role of Ludwig Dieter in Army of the Dead, which quickly evolved into both reprising the role and directing the prequel-spinoff, Army of Thieves, before the former film was even released.
Schweighöfer starred alongside Gal Gadot in a cross-promotional short for Army of Thieves and Gadot's Red Notice, called "Criminal Support Group," then later appeared in Heart of Stone, also starring Gadot. He also played Werner Heisenberg in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer.
