April 18, 2021 was the final day of the second Justice Con event. The day focused on the upcoming Army of the Dead.
Spotlight on American Foundation for Suicide Prevention[]
The spotlight event on AFSP was hosted by Wondermeg featuring Doreen Marshall and Ashly Alberto from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. They talked about the organization and what the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement has meant for them, as well as how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted AFSP's procedures and results.[1]
Women Behind the Scenes of Army of the Dead[]
Nana from The Nerd Queens hosted a panel featuring Dody Dorn, the editor of Army of the Dead; Stephanie Portnoy Porter, the costume designer; Misha Bukowski, the first assistant director; and Julie Berghoff, the production designer. Dorn mentioned that this was the first movie for which she never felt the need to request any pickups because the production was so smooth. They talked about how intimate production was compared to past projects. Cole from The Nerd Queens joined to ask community questions.[2]
Spotlight on Women from Army of the Dead[]
Wondermeg and The Nerd Queens hosted a panel featuring the leading ladies of Army of the Dead: Samantha Win, Tig Notaro, Nora Arnezeder, Ella Purnell, Huma Qureshi, and Ana de la Reguera. Deborah Snyder also stopped by for a while to talk about how to get into the industry. The group talked about their experiences making the movie. What it was like working with everyone, the training exercises, the gear, etc.[3]
