Damon Caro is a stunt performer, actor, and director. He was a stunt coordinator and fight choreographer for Dawn of the Dead, 300, and Watchmen; a stunt coordinator and second unit director for Man of Steel, 300: Rise of an Empire, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Zack Snyder's Justice League, Army of the Dead, and Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas; action designer for Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole and Sucker Punch; portrayed the zombie head in the cooler at the end of Dawn of the Dead, a U.S. soldier in Watchmen, trench courier in Sucker Punch, Joe Chill in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice; and was the action director for Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.
Caro participated in the Batman v Superman Q&A for the Zack Snyder: The Director's Cuts charity event, then later appeared on "Lights, Camera, Action" to talk about developing the action scenes for Army of the Dead. He was a stunt choreographer for Rebel Moon, but only covered some of the prep work as he was scheduled to work on See with Jason Momoa. Since his work on Rebel Moon was prior to the filming, this was the first of Zack Snyder's live-action films for which Caro wasn't on the set.
As part of The Stone Quarry's first-look deal with Netflix, Caro was set to make his directorial debut with an action-based feature film. Details of the film were not provided beyond this, but in an interview with LadyJenevia, he later stated that his attempts to get a directorial gig always fell apart, indicating this project met the same fate. He also believes he won't work with Snyder again, simply due to the lowered need for second-unit directorial work.[1]
Biography[]
As the fight choreographer of Sucker Punch, Caro was in charge of putting the actresses who played the lead characters through their paces — training them with military precision.
"We had the most incredible stunt choreographer known to mankind. Damon Caro is like, you can't ask for someone kinder, sweeter, more prepared, interested in your safety, interested in bringing out the best in you. I could do, like, a really good triple roundhouse double kick, you know? I was, like, 'I got really good at this!' And he's, like, 'Well, good, we're incorporating it into your piece.' I was, like, 'Yes!' He was really good about teaching us, pushing us, rewarding us in a way that it really felt educational, kind of [like] school, and very much fun, even though you're sweating. You're, like, blind from sweating so much. It was really incredible."

"They're on their way to kill a baby dragon; they've killed all of these orc-like creatures and they're entering a door; it's this classic, real Navy SEAL-style room clearing. They have machine guns, but they're fighting mythic creatures, impossible creatures. The hand-to-hand stuff is all brutal because Damon did all the fights in the [Jason Bourne movies] and it has that vibe to it."
