Carla Gugino (born August 29, 1971) is an American actress. She first started working with Cruel and Unusual Films on Watchmen, in which she portrayed Silk Spectre, then played Vera Gorski in Sucker Punch, Kelor (a Kryptonian service android) in Man of Steel, and the AI interface of Scout Ship 0334 in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder's Justice League. She also sand "Love is the Drug" for the Sucker Punch soundtrack alongside Oscar Isaac.
Gugino is also Snyder's choice to play Catwoman in the DC Extended Universe alongside Ben Affleck's Batman, though at the moment there's no sign this may happen. Gugino also supported this notion on Twitter.[1]
Biography[]
Carla Gugino was born on August 29, 1971, in Sarasota Florida, to orthodontist Carl and Susan Gugino. Her parents divorced when she was 2 years old and she was shuttled between them. When she was 4, her mother moved with her to Paradise, California. As a teen, she worked as a model and made enough to support herself and was emancipated from her parents (with their consent) at age 16.
In 1988, she made her TV debut in a guest role on Who's the Boss? and then Good Morning, Miss Bliss. Her movie debut came in 1989's Troop Beverly Hills, followed by 1990's Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael, in which she played a young version of the titular character, Roxy. In 2007, she won the Capri Italian-America Award.
Carla is in a committed relationship with Sebastian Gutierrez, a Venezuelan director, producer, and screenwriter. They met as actors on the 1996 film, Wedding Bell Blues.
